Aquamarine is one of the most popular semi precious gemstones. With beautiful colours ranging from pale blue to a strong sea blue, it is the deeper and more saturated colours that are most valuable. Aquamarine is refined, flawless, hard and durable – its glass-like lustre and brilliance are beyond compare. Aquamarine is a popular gem choice for rings, earrings, pendants and necklaces.

Aquamarine has been revered for thousands of years. The stone is closely associated with the sea (the name literally translates to ‘water of the sea’). In ancient legend, aquamarine was thought to be mermaid treasure, and was used by sailors as a talisman for fearlessness, protection and good luck. It was also considered to be a stone that represented eternal youth and happiness.

These days, aquamarine is said to inspire truth, trust and letting go, and to have a calming, soothing and cleansing effect on the wearer.
